Tulip planting is in full swing throughout Pella ahead of the 85th annual Tulip Time celebration next spring. Executive Director of Pella Historical Society Valerie Van Kooten says volunteers are gathering to plant several thousand bulbs at their locations in the Scholte Gardens and Pella Historical Village. She says between the City of Pella Parks Department, Pella Historical Society, Fair Haven Gardens, and other local organizations, more than 300,000 bulbs are planted annually every fall in the Tulip City.
