The Knights of Columbus in Pella have completed their annual Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities. Joe Lickteig with the Knights of Columbus says 2019 was a record breaking fundraiser, with more than $27,000 raised at Pella storefronts and through an online donation, with the help of Pella and Pella Christian high school athletes. Lickteig says the funds are providing a boost to the Pella and Pella Christian Special Education classrooms, Christian Opportunity Center, the Wonder Spelen Miracle Playground project, and the Iowa Special Olympics. Lickteig thanks the community for their support in both fundraising and raising awareness about individuals with special needs in the area community.
