The Indianola girls cross country team is headed to the state meet next Saturday, after earning a second place finish at Marshalltown in the District Meet Thursday afternoon, while the Indians boys squad had two individual qualifiers. On the girls side, freshman Emily Naughton earned a second place finish, Joey Werling, Bailey Blake, and Ashley Rockhold finished 15th, 16th, and 17th respectively, and Katie O’Neil placed 31st to round out the top finishers for the Indians as they scored 81 points. The Indians boys scored 129 team points to place fifth, but will have sophomores Curtis Johnson and Logan Hoger finish in 11th and 12th place with a time of 16:45 to qualify for the state meet.
