Over the past 24 hours runners who participated in the Knoxville Cancer Relay fought through cold temperatures and once again finished at the start of Friday’s Knoxville Panther home football game versus Newton. A cheering crowd greeted the runners as they took a final victory lap around the field, and then delivered the game ball.
The relay featured groups of runners taking off at the top of every hour for 24 hours straight to help raise funds for the Coaches vs Cancer event which will take place in January. A special Memory Honor Mile was also marked along Highway 14 to honor those who have battled or are currently fighting cancer.
