A district title showdown turned into a lopsided affair as Pella Christian blew the doors off of Interstate 35 in a 49-21 win heard live on 92.1 KRLS.

The Eagles and Roadrunners opened to a zero-zero draw after one quarter, but after the second period started, the scoring came in bunches. A critical series came after an Eagles touchdown to go up 20-14 with 1:17 remaining, which turned into a safety and gave Pella Christian the ball, which they would move to the endzone again right before the half, giving them a 29-14 lead they didn’t look back from.

First half broadcast highlights:

Dan Jungling finished with six total touchdowns–including five on the ground, and Bennett Spronk had a career day with 130 yards receiving on nine catches.

Pella Christian finishes the regular season with a five game winning streak and is the 2019 Class 1A District 7 champions, and advance to the postseason to take on No. 1 Van Meter in the opening round on the road.
