The City of Indianola received direction from the Indianola City Council at their most recent meeting Monday evening to continue to develop a plan moving forward for Indianola City Hall. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the current City Hall/Public Safety Building is not adequately sized to host the city departments, and council gave direction to staff to look at other options.

“There were four recommendations that were presented, and the one that received the support of the council was to proceed with the renovation of City Hall which would be then used for police and fire to have everything under one roof. Then working with the library in creating a structure with the library and those services and city hall and those services and functions can all operate under the same building.”

Waller also said the plan is purely direction at this time, nothing is official, and there are several more steps to complete before anything would officially be voted on by council.
