It has been an adventurous season for Melcher-Dallas Cross Country Runner J’Lyn Knutson. For most of the season she has been dealing with a hip flexor injury and has limited her meets and work outs. Knutson tells KNIA Sports it has been tough to deal with, but she knows she has to take it easy and make sure she does everything the trainers are saying. Knutson says the toughest part of the ordeal this season was not being able to run for several days at a time. Knutson was able to pull off a tenth place finish at the state qualifier in Marshalltown last week to qualify for the state meet.
