The Pella Christian Eagles will begin their journey back to the UNI-Dome as the High School Football Playoffs begin tonight. The #16 seed Eagles will travel to top-seeded Van Meter for first round action. Pella Christian will try to avenge their Week 2 home loss to Van Meter. Pella Christian went 5-0 in district play after an 0-4 start to clinch their spot in the playoffs while Van Meter dominated everyone in their path to go 9-0.

The Bulldogs certainly bring a lot of talent to the table, with a strong running game rooted in excellent offensive line play. Eagles head coach Rich Kacmarynski says that his team is healthier and more experienced than the first time they played Van Meter, but they’ll need to slow down the Bulldog running game and not give up big plays.

Tonight’s first round game will be broadcast live on 92.1 KRLS. Jon Mohwinkle and Larry Hessing will call the action beginning with the pregame show at 6:30. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 at Van Meter High School.
