The Indianola defense held strong throughout the first half against the #1 team in class 4A, but West Des Moines Valley proved to be too strong overall as the Indians season came to a close in a 42-7 loss heard live on 94.3 KNIA. The Indians forced three first half turnovers, but couldn’t get themselves on the scoreboard and went into halftime down 14-0. The third quarter was all Valley, as the Tigers scored 21 unanswered to go up 35-0, before the Indians struck back early in the fourth with a Kael Kolarik short rushing td. Valley scored again before the end, and salted the clock away to move on. Indianola Head Coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports the scoreboard didn’t show it, but he thought the Indians played a strong game throughout, fought hard, and never quit. The Indians end their season with a 6-4 overall record and graduate 16 seniors.
