Habitat for Humanity of Marion County has recently announced their recipient of the home currently being built in Pleasantville. Cheyenne Downing and her four children, seven-year-old Adalynn, five-year-old Allison, four-year-old Brock and one-year-old David Jr, will have a new home and place to live when their home is completed in the spring of 2020. Cheyenne is a single mother who lost her partner David in a construction accident in December of 2017 when she was six months pregnant with their fourth child, David Jr. Cheyenne tells KNIA/KRLS News she was not prepared for the loss of David. She says she was a stay at home mom until he passed away and then she had to do what she had to do to make ends meet. Cheyenne says people from around the area held a benefit to help raise money for her and her children which helped her get through life until she could establish her own cleaning business. Cheyenne says a place to call home is what she is so excited for. For her children to know they always have a place to live and is theirs is what makes her happy. Habitat for Humanity of Marion County is currently still accepting volunteers to help work on Cheyennes new home.
