The Pella City Council will consider an engineering agreement for a new telecom and electric utility facility at their meeting this evening. A contract is under consideration which will include oversight for project startup, schematic design, development, construction documents, bidding, and administration for a new facility to house services for the telecommunications utility and expanded space for the electric department. The new building is proposed to include 30,000 square feet of space south of the existing electric distribution facility on South Prairie Street. Council will also review a resolution that would update city code to address a conflict of interest disclosure procedure for elected City officials. During policy and planning following regular business, discussion will be held about a revised development agreement with Harvest Investments for a project at Bos Landen, amusement recreation zoning districts, minors in businesses providing alcohol for on-site consumption, Pella Memorial Building maintenance, and proposed rental fees for the recently acquired facility. The Pella City Council meeting starts at 7 p.m. this evening due to Tuesday’s election.
