Central junior quarterback Blaine Hawkins has been named to the latest D3football.com Team of the Week following another record-setting performance on Saturday. The first Central quarterback to surpass 400 passing yards in a game, Hawkins threw for 421 yards on just 24 completions in Central’s 51-34 win over Simpson. Among his feats on Saturday were 19 straight pass completions and six total touchdowns.

It’s the fifth time this season that a Central football player has been selected. 50 Dutch football players have been selected in the 21-year history of the award. Central returns to action Saturday, hosting league-leader and undefeated Wartburg at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium.
