As election results were posted Tuesday night, John Gotta, Jyl DeJong, and Justin Plum found themselves elected to the Knoxville City Council.

Gotta received the most votes with 810, with DeJong and Plum finishing with 592 and 460  respectfully. Challengers Jerrold Jordan and Mike Conner Jr received 425 and 176 votes. John Gotta and Justin Plum tells KNIA/KRLS New they are thankful to the Knoxville community for voting them in to the Knoxville City Council.Mayor Brian Hatch who was uncontested in his reelection bid received 986 votes.

For school board results, Proposition OQ was approved 1,150 votes to 293 with Cheri Gerdes, Larissa Van Donselaar, and Dave Smith all being elected to the Knoxville School Board. Van Donselaar tells KNIA/KRLS News she is happy the Knoxville community came out and voted. She says it’s an exciting time to be apart of the school board and she is excited to work with both Cheri Gerdes and Dave Smith. According to Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia there are still 26 absentee ballots not yet so results are not final until all ballots have been counted.
