Recently the City of Knoxville conducted a survey to the citizens of Knoxville. The survey was conducted to help the city understand the wants of residents when it comes to prioritizing projects and resources within the community. The survey began in mid September and was both mailed out to residents as well as conducted online with the result being finalized on Thursday. According to the survey the major finding showed the city services that had the highest levels of satisfaction, based upon the combined percentage of “very satisfied” and “satisfied” responses among residents, who had an opinion, were the quality of the public library at 89 percent, quality of police, fire and emergency medical services at 88 percent, and the overall quality of the City cemetery at 87 percent. Based on the sum of their top three choices, the area that residents feel should receive the most emphasis from City leaders over the next two years was maintenance of city streets, buildings, and facilities at 81 percent.
