Near record cold will greet south central Iowa residents to start the work week. Daytime highs will stay in the mid 20s today and Tuesday, with overnight lows in the single digits expected in between. The previous record coldest high on Veterans Day was 25 degrees set in 1995. Additionally, roads may be slick with a light snow expected early Monday morning. More mild conditions are expected to return by later in the week.
