The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday. The board heard an update from Chris Nichols with the Facilities Planning Task Force with an update to the five year facilities proposal for 2019 through 2024. Nichols told the board the task force will recommend the potential new middle school be constructed in the area of the current high school grounds. The board approved a request for increasing enrollment funding of $99,760; open enrollment out of $190,628 and English Language Learners beyond 5 years of $12,108 for a total of $302,496. They approved a resolution appointing the paying agent, bond registrar and transfer agent, and approved the paying agent, bond registrar and transfer agent agreement, and authorized the execution regarding the $3,813,000 School Infrastructure Sales, Services and Use Tax Revenue Refunding Bonds. The board approved the tax exemption certificate, as well as approved a resolution authorizing the terms of issuance and providing for securing the payment of School Infrastructure Sales, Services and Use Tax Revenue Refunding Bonds. They approved Campus Suite as the website vendor to update the districts website. The board approved fundraisers for the Spanish trip for students to sell pies and cookie dough as well as to conduct a can drive. They also approved a fundraiser for the High School Boys Basketball Team in which the players and coaches will conduct a basketball camp for children in grades third through eighth. The board approved policies regarding objectives of buildings and sites as well principals and objectives for community relations.
