Local legislators will be in Knoxville today to tour local solar and energy efficiency projects. The legislators, which include state representative Jon Thorup, will tour the solar panel project at the Knoxville Middle School at 2:15 pm. The solar energy industry in Iowa features solar projects installed in each of the state’s 99 counties with nearly 100 Iowa businesses involved in the solar energy supply chain. In addition to local legislators, representatives with Red Lion Renewables, Simpleray, Iowa Interfaith Power and Light, IMPACT Community Action Partnership and the Iowa Environmental Council will all be in attendance.
