Pella Regional Health Center has announced that Tami Fairbanks in the Emergency Department is a DAISY recipient. The DAISY program is a national award, given at the local level, to registered nurses who exemplify extraordinary nursing. The focus is on the special touches and human consideration that nurses give to their patients.
“Tami is an amazing nurse, clinical instructor, mentor, mother, friend, and person. She is extremely intelligent and able to impart her vast clinical knowledge to her colleagues, students, and patients for their betterment. Tami is able to use her experience to make a lasting positive impact on each person she makes contact with. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from her and would jump at the chance in the future. Tami exemplifies extraordinary nursing!”
Fairbanks received a certificate of appreciation and a sculpture called A Healer’s Touch, hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa.
