The Knoxville Public Library is allowing patrons to pay off any fine with canned goods as part of the library’s Food for Fines program. The program, which began on Monday, November 4th will run through Monday, November 18th, giving patrons just a few more days to turn in canned goods for donation to area food pantries. Each food item is equal to $1 off a fine. Up to $50 of canned goods will be accepted per library card. All items brought to the library must be in good condition, and not have reached an expiration date.
