The PCM football team had a bit of an unusual season this year following their state championship last year. The new field in Monroe faced several construction delays, and The Mustangs ended up having to play their first three of five home games at Central College in Pella.
It was a slow start to the season by PCM’s standards. A one-point win over Newton to start the season was followed by PCM’s first loss in over a year, losing to West Marshall. The Mustangs then rattled off four straight wins, including a 20-19 thriller over Pella Christian. The streak ended when the Mustangs lost on the road to Des Moines Christian.
PCM closed the regular season with dominant wins, followed by a first round playoff game at Benton Community. The Mustangs fell on the road to OABCIG in the quarterfinals to finish 8-3 on the season.
