Students in the Pella Community School District have been selected to a prestigious statewide choir. Pella Middle School Choral Music Director Joe Tangen says nine students from Pella Middle School and three from Pella High School were named to the Opus Honor Choir out of more than 2,600 who auditioned. The 2019 Opus Honor Choirs will perform at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday in C.Y. Stephens Auditorium in the Iowa State Center in Ames. The Opus Honor Choir Festival is organized by the Iowa Choral Directors Association.
