The Helping Hand in Indianola and Warren County has several programs for the holiday season to help provide entertainment and meals for families. The Helping Hand Executive Director Sue Wilson tells KNIA News one of the programs includes a kit to help make families closer during the holidays.
“We are doing a family bonding kit that includes pretzels, almond bark, and sprinkles among some other things that families can put together together for treats during the holidays. We chose that because you don’t need an oven, you can just microwave it. So some money that comes in will be used for supplies and putting together the kits, and they’ll be given the instructions and everything.”
Wilson also said a big need right now is laundry supplies, so they are teaming up with the Wash Barn in Indianola to help provide laundry cards and equipment.
