With Thanksgiving fast approaching, Helping Hands Food Pantry in Knoxville is still in need of turkeys for their annual holiday baskets. The baskets, which are put together to help provide a holiday meal to less fortunate families throughout Marion County, are over 100 turkeys short of being completed in time to be delivered before Thanksgiving. Chuck Galeazzi of Helping Hands tells KNIA/KRLS News right now the Knoxville Hy-Vee has a special where if people buy a ham they can get a turkey. He says if people wanted to do that and save the ham for Christmas that would be the ultimate home run for Helping Hands. Galeazzi says if the pantry receives enough turkeys and food, all the baskets can be put together this weekend and will then be delivered to families on the 26th. For more information or to donate a turkey contact Chuck Galeazzi at Helping Hands by calling (641) 842-6933 or (641)842-4524.
