This afternoon the Knoxville Police Department will hold a retirement celebration for Officer Darrel Brown who is retiring from the department after 28 years of service. The celebration will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knoxville Public Library Meeting Room. Officer Brown, who previously served in the National Guard as well as the Melcher-Dallas Chief of Police, was recognized this past June as National Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
