Vermeer Corporation Chair of the Board Mary Andringa was inducted into the Association of Equipment Manufacturers Hall of Fame at their annual conference this weekend. The AEM Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates outstanding individuals in the off-road equipment industry and their legacy of innovation, service and leadership.
“We are very pleased to announce and congratulate Mary Andringa as the latest inductee into the AEM Hall of Fame,” said AEM president Dennis Slater in a prepared statement. “She joins an elite group of respected industry leaders whose work and accomplishments inspire the next generation to continue our industry’s legacy of progress enhancing productivity, sustainability, and economic and social prosperity.”
AEM Hall of Fame inductees were evaluated on five criteria vital to the health of the manufacturing industry: innovation, industry contributions, leadership, corporate citizenship/social responsibility and sustainability.
Mary spearheaded Vermeer’s continuous improvement journey to grow the company in a sustainable way. Mary has been continuously committed to communicating and collaborating with legislators on issues that matter to advanced manufacturing. She has served as a voice for exporters, privately-owned and operated organizations, advanced manufacturers, small- and medium-sized businesses and more.
Mary said upon receiving the award, “It’s an honor to be inducted into the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Hall of Fame, joining others like my father, Vermeer
Founder Gary Vermeer (inducted 1996) and my brother, Bob Vermeer (inducted 2016). His inspiration for innovation was simple – to find a better way to get work done for his
neighbors on the farm. This same inspiration has changed the way industries now work as our more than 70-year legacy for innovation, continuous improvement and dedication to
customers has influenced the market. I’m grateful to have been a part of making this history – from leading our continuous improvement journey to connecting with team members on the shop floor to listening to our customers about the problems they face on the jobsite. I’m proud to now witness the third and fourth generations of the Vermeer family carry this legacy of making a real impact.”
