Now that the high school football season is officially over, one local athlete can finally celebrate a fantastic accomplishment. Pleasantville’s Cale Anthony finished the regular season with the most rushing yards in Class 1A. The Trojan’s didn’t qualify for the playoffs, so there was a chance he could have been passed by someone in the playoffs.
His closest threat, Logan Meyer of West Lyon, finished Friday’s state championship game with 125 yards. He would have needed 443 more yards to reach Anthony’s mark of 1,793. A phenomenal senior season for the 1st Team All-District running back, he is the rushing yardage champion in Class 1A.
