The Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad will get the season started tonight with a long road trip to Orient-Macksburg tonight. The Sabers will start Bluegrass Conference play right out of the gate and hope to finish in the top half of the league this season. One player the Sabers will be counting on will be limited somewhat to start the season. Sophomore Brook Roby was ill for most of the fall sports season and was limited in volleyball and her cross country seasons. Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports she will play tonight, but her minutes will be limited.
“She will be playing, we’ll have to limit her minutes and progressively work her back in, but to answer your question she will be playing in our game next Tuesday.”
Roby was the Sabers’ leading scorer last season getting 10.1 points per game and had 45 steals. The Sabers and Bulldogs will get going tonight at 7:30.
