After discussion and direction from the Indianola School Board Monday evening, the Indianola School District is making a change in their online security policy, removing permissions to use Google Hangouts on school provided computers. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News this issue has been debated among the administration for awhile, and the board discussion on the topic leaned towards not allowing the programs anymore to see how that works. Sathoff also said the district starts teaching good digital citizenship in the elementary schools and middle schools far before students receive any computer.
