Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday was established in 2010 on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to encourage people to Shop Small and bring more holiday shopping to small businesses. In 2011, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution in support of the day, and officials in all 50 states participate. During the most recent Knoxville Living Windows event the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce held a Snowball Drop which featured different deals for local businesses to be used on Small Business Saturday. Director of the Knoxville Chamber Hannah Vander Veer tells KNIA/KRLS News the Chamber hopes the people that collected the snowballs utilize the deals they received and the Chamber is excited to see people use the deals and save money while shopping local. She says shopping local is important because local businesses depend on holiday shopping, and  local Knoxville shops have all the items you need without having to drive a long way to get them while keeping business in Knoxville. For every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays in the local community. To hear the complete interview with Vander Veer tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville
