The Indianola School Board is considering adding several committees for board members to sit on, in addition to the regular meetings. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News committees include a school engagement committee that will handle the board’s efforts to get out in the schools and meet with teachers and students, and a school safety committee that will continue the work of an informal committee that worked to get a school resource officer hired to the district. Sathoff also said that the school safety committee is not limited to school board members and district staff, as the advice of law enforcement professionals and community members will be welcome. The official status of the meetings will be discussed in a future work session in December.
