A Central College student-athlete has received national recognition, following a remarkable performance during a 10-2 football season. Senior kicker Jon Alberts has been named a first-team member of the American Football Coaches Association Division III All-America team, the association announced Wednesday. Alberts is the 15th Central player named to the list.

Alberts finished the season 11-13 on field goal attempts, with a long of 48 yards. He was perfect on extra points, going 59-59. The 59 makes is a school record. He also holds the record for longest field goal in program history at 55 yards. Alberts finished his career as the most accurate kicker in Central history, with a career percentage of 86.8.
