A pair of Pella Christian alumni are competing for an NAIA National Volleyball Championship in Sioux City this weekend. Sisters and former Pella Christian Eagles AJ Kacmarynski and Bekah Horstman have been key players in the Northwestern College undefeated start in pool play in the national finals this week, leading the Red Raiders to a 3-0 record. AJ has totalled 33 kills in the team’s three tournament matches thus far. Bekah dominated in the 3rd match against Corban of Oregon last night, racking up 15 kills, giving her 23 to just four errors in 10 playoff sets, adding eight blocks. Northwestern is the No. 2 ranked team in the nation, with a 31-1 overall record, and have advanced to the final sixteen teams, with a tournament beginning today, with all four rounds completed by the championship finals Saturday night in Sioux City.
