The dreams of a national championship will have to wait another year for a pair of sisters and former Pella Christian volleyball players. A.J. Kacmarynski and Bekah Horstman had their seasons end in the NAIA National Quarterfinals as Northwestern fell to Jamestown 3-1 Friday night in the round of eight. The sisters each finished with seven kills in a match that came late at night, as earlier in the day, the Red Raiders won their opening match in the NAIA tournament 3-1 over Oklahoma City. In the day game, Kacmarynski had 10 kills and two blocks. Both will return next season to try and push the No. 2 team in the nation to a title win.
In NCAA Division I, the UNI Panthers were swept in short order by Missouri 3-0 in the national tournament opener, which ends the season of Freshman Emily Holterhaus. The former Pella standout had two blocks and two kills in the final match of the season for the Panthers.
