Milo held their annual “Small Town Country Christmas” celebration Saturday, a day that included a breakfast with Santa, horse drawn carriages, and a petting zoo among many other activities, all leading up to a lighted parade and city-wide luminaria display. Event organizer Jackson Baumgarten tells KNIA News he thinks Milo puts on a one-of-a-kind show.
“There truly is something for everyone. I haven’t seen an event in central Iowa that holds up to what we do. We have a craft show, many dinners put on by different organizations, we have build your own wreaths, and sign painting. If you are not the crafty type, we have plenty of crafters here willing to sell their goods to you. We have a lighted parade, we line our streets with luminaries as well, so we have a city-wide luminary display. Our town is unique, and the aspects that we can pull off is something that I’m not sure any larger community can.”
The KNIA Lil’ Big Red Radio was on location, broadcasting live and playing holiday music.
