After a somewhat sluggish start, a big third quarter propelled Pella Christian past Grand View Christian in a boys varsity matchup Tuesday, with the Eagles pulling away to an 83-62 win.

Despite just holding a two-point margin after the first quarter and a five-point lead at the break, the Eagles came out firing in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Thunder 28-11 to take control.

Pella Christian’s attack was balanced, with Josh Van Gorp scoring 16 points and collecting 10 rebounds, Ryan Vande Haar scoring 10 points, and Keean Cadwell, Jack Vermeer, and Isaiah Gritters all tallied up nine points each.

The Eagles are off to a 4-0 start and welcome Norwalk to town Friday in a girls-boys doubleheader, which can be heard on the KRLS3 stream.
