The 2019 Academic All-American Football Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Director Association, have been announced and David Kacmarynski, a Pella native and junior at Dordt University, has been named a first-team All-American honoree. Earlier this fall, Kacmarynski was named an All-District honoree for the second straight year. Kacmarynski has a 3.8 grade point average and is studying History and Political Science at Dordt. He finished the year with 36 solo and 14 assisted tackles and a team high 19 tackles for loss and seven quarterback sacks. He intercepted two passes and recovered four fumbles. Kacmaynski is the career leader at Dordt in sacks and was named GPAC Player of the Week and NAIA National Player of the Week for his play on November 16. Kacmarynski was also named a first-team all-GPAC selection at the conclusion of the season. He’s the third Defender in program history to claim first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American honors.
