The Knoxville Boys basketball Squad got a road win over Grinnell Monday night 70-57. The Panthers were in control for most of the game, leading by as many as 16 points in the second half. Coach Jeff Larson told KRLS Sports his team came out with intensity and played well defensively, especially in the second half and executed end of game situations well. Kieren Nichols torched the Tigers for 36 points while Spencer Hixon had 15. Knoxville is now 3-1 on the season and will take on Davis County in a girls/boys doubleheader tonight. For the girls, Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KRLS Sports, Davis County’s record is a bit deceiving.

Uitermarkt:
“Some of their scores have surprised me a little bit. I thought Davis County was going to have a better record than what they have. They’ve had a couple of losses that I’m scratching my head about because I know they’re better than what their record is right now. They’re athletic and they’re going to get out and run, and they’re well coached, and they rebound well, and that’s something we’re going to continue to focus on every night.”

Tonight’s double header can be heard live on 95.5 KNIA with Derek Cardwell and Marcus Wilkins beginning at 6:15pm.
