A new police officer was sworn in by Mayor Jim Mueller at this week’s Pella City Council meeting. Zachary Nelson will begin his law enforcement career in the City of Pella. Nelson is a graduate of Simpson College and an Urbandale, Iowa native. Nelson will begin his time at the state’s Law Enforcement Academy on January 2nd, and start serving the city upon completion.
