The Pella City Council will hold their final regular meeting of 2019 this evening. New Pella Police Officer Zachary Nelson will take the Oath of Office, and proclamations thanking outgoing council members Harold Van Stryland and Tony Bokhoven, as well as Mayor Jim Mueller, will all be held to begin the meeting. A pair of public hearings are scheduled for an ordinance allowing amusement recreational land uses in the Commercial Mixed-Use Urban Center zoning district, which includes the entry corridors to the city, as well as an ordinance regulating and defining urban gardens as an allowable land use in the city limits. Council will also review the 2018-19 city audit and consider Oskaloosa Street Corridor Development Guidelines. Following regular business, council will receive a presentation about the Southside Beautification Project Master Plan from Civil Design Advantage. The Pella City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. today in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
