The Indianola wrestling team is headed to Waterloo tomorrow to take part in a two-day tournament, with one of the goals being able to wrestle a diverse group of styles. Head coach Clint Manny tells KNIA Sports the tournament is always something his guys look forward to at the beginning of the season.

“That’s one that we highlight every year, the kids always get up for it. It’s a tough tournament, I think 36 teams I counted. So we’ve struggled over the last couple of years putting together a 14-strong lineup, and I think we have that this year. So from a dual perspective at the Battle of Waterloo, we really want to go up there and represent ourselves well, represent central Iowa well, and we’re hoping to finish the highest we’ve ever done at that tournament this weekend.”

The Indians are 2-0 in Little Hawkeye Conference duals so far this season, and several top tournament finishes at Newton and Johnston.
