It has been a good start to the Knoxville Bowling season. The Panthers have finished near the top of the meets they have gone to. The Panthers are 19th in the state in class 1A with an average score according to Quick Stats of 2,548. Coach Shaun Renard tells KRLS Sports one of the toughest things they face is the materials the lanes are made of and how the ball reacts to wooden lanes differently from synthetic lanes.
Renard:
“The biggest thing we face is the material the lanes are made of. The Monroe bowling alley is an older wood lane house and the rest of the houses we go to the lanes are synthetic. You’ve got to teach your kids how to play each one differently because the outcomes are always different.”
The Panthers will host Bondurant-Farrar at the Monroe bowling center this Saturday, the Monroe house has wooden lanes, which creates a bit of an advantage for his bowlers.
