The Central College women’s basketball team is off to what they consider to be an excellent start to the season. The Dutch are 7-3 overall and 0-2 in the American Rivers Conference at the Christmas break. With the extended time between games, it leaves time for a fair amount of improvement. Head Coach Joe Steinkamp says that while the team is sitting pretty good, there is some offensive tweaking happening during the break.

“With our offense, we feel like we’re scoring at a pretty high clip, and there’s areas we can improve. Just little things, little spacing things, little timing issues that in November and December you play so many games in a short amount of time that you don’t have time in practice to work on the little details, and we were able to do that last week. We feel like we had a really good week of practice and we feel like we’re playing at a high level right now.”

The Dutch will have one more week off before getting back on the floor Monday, December 30th at home against Fontbonne.
