It came down to one pin as the Pella boys bowling team fell to Oskaloosa 2748-2747 in a road match to close 2019. Head Coach Mike Norman says the Dutch closed a 90 pin round one gap with the 4th highest baker Reid Miller paced Pella with a 444, followed by 367 from Matt DeJong and 340 from Nathan Grandia. The Lady Dutch fell to Oskaloosa 2218-1785. Megan Jennings set a personal best with a 306 series, followed by a 269 from Sierra Vander Werdt and 263 from Anna DeNooy.
The Pella Christian bowling teams split with Norwalk at home Saturday, as the girls toppled the Warriors 1799-1660 and the boys fell to Norwalk 2489-2117. The girls were led today by Lexie Matherly with a score of 287, followed by Kendra Branderhorst at 260 and Alayna VanKooten at 247. The boys were led by Blake Veenstra with a score of 404, Cameron VanderWal at 291, and Austin VanKooten at 280.
Both Pella and Pella Christian will clash against each other after winter break, as the Tulip City Showdown will be held at Excit-a-Bowl on January 4th.
