The City of Indianola is in the process of changing the city codes, performing an update from some codes that were set in 2012. Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the process is helped by a statewide group, but can be slightly altered to better fit the area.

“The Central Iowa Code Consortium, which is a group through the Capital Crossroads Project in the Des Moines area, has spent the last year and a half looking through all the code books in the metro area, some could be as small as 100 pages and some are as big as 1,000 pages. But what they are doing is looking at how those codes apply to the region, and then take any amendments into the codes cities want to put in when they adopt them.”
