Those dreaming of a White Christmas are out of luck again this year, continuing a long stretch of no snow on December 25th. According to the National Weather Service, the last time there was at least an inch of snow on the ground in central Iowa for Christmas was in 2013. Meteorologist Andrew Ansorge with the National Weather Service says there’s a 40-50 percent chance for a White Christmas each year, according to climate data. Above average warmth with dry conditions will likely continue through Friday evening. Records are possible on Christmas Day as well — the previous high mark was 57, set in 1936, and currently, the forecasted high is in the mid-to-upper 50s.
