A record breaking warm Christmas has given way to slightly cooler conditions, and this weekend, good chances of rain across the region. According to the National Weather Service, widespread moderate rainfall is expected Saturday with temperatures in the upper 40s in to the 50s. After a mild and dry day today, warmer air moves back into the area, but with it, rainfall through early Sunday morning. Some areas may be slick by Sunday evening with an expected cooldown, as a light snow/rain mix is possible, but little accumulation is expected as it relates to frozen precipitation south of I-80 in Iowa.
