With 2019 coming to an end soon, the Marion County Road Department looks back on a year that didn’t see a lot of major projects, however it did see an abnormal year when it comes to weather. Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian tells KNIA/KRLS News 2019 was more about maintaining area roads then it was about major projects. He says due to the weather, 2019 saw his department haul extra rock because of bad spots on gravel roads as well as extra patching done on area roadways due to the number of freeze thaw cycles. Christian says he’s hoping to see some major road construction projects begin in April of 2020 which includes the reconstruction of Old Highway 92 from Highway T15 to Highway T17. Christian says construction timelines are always weather permitting.
