As 2019 comes to an end, the future of the VA campus in Knoxville is still technically unresolved but a potential agreement between Marion County, the city of Knoxville, General Services Administration and the State Historical Preservation Offices looms. Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News the different groups have exhausted all avenues and a finish line is on the horizon. He says the project has taken efforts from so many people and so many different organizations, the city finally feels the end is in sight. During Tuesday’s Marion County Board of Supervisors meeting, Supervisor Mark Raymie reported he believes the county and the city of Knoxville will have a joint meeting at the beginning to the middle of January to potentially sign an agreement to acquire the property.
