It’s been a roller coaster ride through the first third of the Lady Dutch basketball season thus far. The 4-3 Pella girls have won tough games on the road and lost to some ranked competition, with the 2019 portion of their season ended in a difficult 29-21 loss to Norwalk. Head Coach Jerod Garland says the team has flashed a lot of promise, and a young group will benefit from the extended winter break to try and expand what they do to take the next step as a team.
Pella has been led by varsity veterans Madison Naig and Faith Diers thus far — Naig is averaging 11.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, and Diers is averaging 9.1 points per contest and shooting 30.3% from the three point line. Pella will open 2020 this Saturday when they travel to ADM for a girls-boys doubleheader.
