According to the Iowa Secretary of State, a Warren County voter is suspected of voting in Iowa after casting a ballot for the 2018 general election in another state. According to a news release from the Secretary of State’s office, nine voters across the state have been referred to county attorneys, with another 27 having been suspected instances of election misconduct, which is a class D felony. The information of the alleged crimes was discovered via Iowa’s partnership with multiple states through the Electronic Registration Information Center, which shares data in order to improve the accuracy of voter rolls and enhance voter confidence. The alleged crimes took place in Polk, Johnson, Mitchell, Sioux, and Story Counties in addition to Warren. No charges have yet been filed by the Warren County Attorney’s Office.
